Hiroyuki Ohno is dean at the institute of Symbiotic Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology since April, 2008. He graduated Waseda University in 1976 and received a PhD degree from Waseda University in 1981. After working in Waseda University, Mainz University (Germany) and Case Western Reserve University (SA) as a visiting scientist or post doctoral research fellow, he was invited to Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology as an associate professor in 1988. In 1997, he became a full professor in the same university. He was vice dean of the graduate school in 2007 and now dean.
His research interests focus on ionic materials such as ion conductive polymers, ionic liquids, non-aqueous bioelectrochemical reactions, and so on. He has published 312 original papers in major journals and 143 reviews and books. More than 1080 papers have been presented as plenary, invited, oral or posters in society meetings including international meeting. He was recently made a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
